Creditron Upgrade enables Remote Deposit for Second-Largest Municipality on Long Island
Creditron, a leading provider of remittance processing and receivables management solutions, today announced that the company was recently awarded a contract to upgrade the Creditron remittance processing solution for Brookhaven, NY, the second-largest municipality on Long Island. Brookhaven has been a Creditron customer since 2003.
The municipality will upgrade its ItemAge software to the next generation ItemAge Express solution including new hardware to process mailed-in remittances, and also implement nine workstations to process over-the-counter transactions. Brookhaven will deposit its checks electronically to JPMorgan Chase. By deploying new scanners, the county will increase the speed and accuracy of its remittance processing, and improve information reporting. The upgraded solution will also will be seamlessly integrated with Brookhaven’s Official Payments credit card processing solution.
The town will also use the solution to deposit its checks electronically via Check 21, eliminating the need to transport payments to a bank branch each day and helping ensure that they can meet their financial institution’s deposit cut-off times each day.
“This upgrade will enable Brookhaven to reduce its overall remittance processing costs, while accelerating funds availability and enhancing service to taxpayers,” commented Creditron Founder and CEO Wally Vogel. “This decision by another longtime customer to upgrade its Creditron platform is further proof of the lasting value and superior service we provide every day.”
